Hi all-

I just got off the phone with a friend and colleague I’ve known for some 12 odd years. During the course of our conversation, it turned to getting results faster. As in… where’s the business? He was feeling the pinch of ‘go get more now!’

Because I’ve been watching him network like crazy since last November, and because I know he is bringing in some business, my attention went to… How do you land those big deals faster? In a world of ‘just-in-time’ marketing, how do you speed that up?

I know I’ve heard others talking about the same thing. How can I get this deal to close? What can I do to move this prospect along faster?

It reminds me of my good ol’ corporate days.

Back then the focus was on lots of things… networking, presentations at various organizations, lunches out, coffee with people, etc.

But, if you ask any great sales person they will tell you that the fastest way from A to Z is to focus almost exclusively on Z. If you want to get into Apple, and that’s your primary focus then start asking everyone you know who they know who can get you into Apple. The focus and the intent is significantly greater – and so are your odds.
